Giving Thanks

Finally a Thanksgiving post! I realized I needed to post something about Thanksgiving before it's too late, so here it goes! Lately it seems like I've spent a lot of time thinking about all the things I've been blessed with and today simply verified just how much I have! So here's my attempt at a small, but sincere list of things I'm grateful for this Thanksgiving......

For loving family members who set good examples for me and love me for who I am- for strong friends who understand me and help me to be better-for nieces and nephews who teach me something new every day-for parents who give me so much but still make me work for the important things-for hot showers-for a warm house to come home to and feel the spirit-for my religion-for laughter-for memories-for my health-for my job-for the ability to learn-for chocolate creme pie! :) -for hope and faith-for prayer-for technology-for strength to get through trials-for rainy days-for hot chocolate!-for hugs-for kisses-for the butterflies you get when you experience something new and\or exciting-for mother nature-for flowers-for Christmas lights-for Freedom!-for the ability to dream-for shooting stars-for puppies-for babies!-for pictures-for happiness-for rainbows-for sugar cereal-for smiles-for pajamas-for the choice I have to not shave my legs! haha-for low gas prices!-for clean sheets-for bubble baths-for ice cream-for talents-for culture-for music-for chapstick lol-for good books-for naps-for jokes-for Temples-for love!-and for so many other things that can't possibly be listed due to lack of space and time!

And I'm especially grateful for this blog, to share my thoughts and keep in touch with my family and friends! Hope everyone ate lots of Turkey! :) Happy Thanksgiving!

A duck walks into the grocery store, finds the nearest clerk and asks him for some chapstick.... the clerk hands him some chapstick and the Duck then says "Just put in on my bill" :)

The Heart of the Matter

This is such a random post! But have you ever found a song that you just love and connect to immediately? I found one last night and I had to share it! It's the first song on my playlist called "The heart of the matter" by Indie Arie. I love it for so many reasons... I appreciate the songs that have truth in the lyrics and that make you think. I can relate to this song, but I think the main reason I love it is because it's so deep lyrically. I love when it says "The more I know, the less I understand" It's so true in so many circumstances .... Anyways, listen to it if you have a second! I love the chorus:

..."I've been learning to live without you now

But I miss you sometimes....

The more I know, the less I understand

All the things I thought I figured out, I have to learn again

I've been trying to get down to the heart of the matter

But my will gets weak and my heart is so shattered

But I think it's about forgiveness, forgiveness,

even if you don't love me anymore"....

Such a good song! Thanks, Brad! I owe ya!

Baby Shower!

Tuesday night was Brooklyn's baby shower! She is the cutest prego ever! She looks amazing! I hope I look as good as she does when I'm pregnant (Which won't be for a VERY long time, obviously! ;) ) She is due in January and I'm so excited for her! She has been a great cousin and will be a great mom! Congrats Chris and Brooklyn! Love ya :)

P.s- comment on how good she looks! ;)

Nauvoo Reunion!

In the fall of 2005 I participated in a semester at BYU-Nauvoo! The things I felt and learned there changed my life! Honestly, I would recommend the experience to everyone! They sadly had to close the program down in 2006 to tear down the Joseph Smith Academy :( I have heard rumors that they are going to construct a new building and start the progam up again.... I'm crossing my fingers that they follow through with it!
This weekend we FINALLY had a Nauvoo reunion! It was great to see old friends and catch up with everyone and their lives! It was so nice to be reunited with our little Nauvoo family again. People travelled so far just to be there! We need to do it more often!
I hold such a special place in my heart for Nauvoo and am so grateful I was lucky enough to have had this experience! I can't say enough about it! It was such a defining time of my life, and I owe so much to this experience! I love you Nauvoo and fellow Nauvoo-ians! :) Smooch!

Welcome Home!

For those of you who know my parents know that they are travel MANIACS! They love to see the world and learn about new cultures and people... that's something I love and admire about them. Anyways, they just got back from about a three week trip to Australia and New Zealand and boy am I glad to have them back! They honestly have a new trip planned every other month it seems like, so in order to keep them home longer I have constructed the following:

-No PLANNING future destinations until after Dec. 08'

-Absolutely NO thinking, talking, or breathing about future destinations!

-If a destination is to take place, participants may not leave
without permission of Tori

-If planning a destination, please consider taking Tori with
you :)

-If a destination occurs and participants are to be gone over a
long period of time, please arrange for Tori to have company.

Let it be known that after the signing of this contract, all terms and conditions apply starting immediately! Dentist Dress Up!

So for work on Friday we decided to get dressed up and go all out for Halloween! This is why I love my job and the people I work with! I mean honestly, where else could you find Snow White, an elf, a black cat and a dead Hygienist in the same building? It was such a fun day and I can't say enough just how much I love the girls I work with! I seriously get paid to have fun! :) Thanks for the party day gals!

Scary Hill!

This past week Steve and Allie were nice enough to invite us all to go mini-golfing at Cherry Hill's new "Scary" Hill! I think I hit the ball once and then decided to stop before they put me to shame! lol! I highly recommend trying it out next year if you didn't get to this go around! We missed you Jen & Trent and Tommy and Kels.... wish you were there! Thanks again Stevie and Allie! Love ya!
